Disney’s Vero Beach Resort

Location: Vero Beach, Florida

Located at Vero Beach on the Atlantic coast of Florida is the Disney Vero Beach Resort. Belonging to the Disney Vacation Club, it is the first resort out of the Walt Disney World Resort area and is about 2 hours east of there. After all, who would have ever thought of going to such a place without needing to enter Walt Disney World itself? Strangely enough, business has been booming ever since it opened on the 1st of October, 1995!

There are deluxe inn rooms for those who like ocean or garden views. For single occupants or couples, studios or 1-bedroom vacation homes are just perfect. However, if you are bringing along your family members or friends, then a free-standing 3-bedroom beach cottage is the best choice of you, especially as it comes complete with an Atlantic ocean view!

For those who cannot live without the Internet, there are wireless Internet services available in all rooms as well as in within the Disney Vero Beach Resort compound. So, if you really cannot live without checking your emails, checking Facebook, or updating your Twitter status, then this service is perfect for you.

Some people may think that just because it is far away from Walt Disney World, that you will miss out on all the Disney fun. But seriously, how can it be Disney without letting visitors indulge in their passions! If you feel like cooling down, take a dip in the Micky Mouse-shaped swimming pool. Here, you can also find a Pirate Plunge pool slide. This pool area is surrounded by Port Holes Miniature Golf, which is a Peter Pan-themed mini-golf course. There are also other facilities available such as volleyball, Rub Dubs massage, a fishing pier, and an air-conditioned Community Hall where you can play board games such as Scrabble.

If you are dining in, there are 4 dining areas that you can visit. These are Shutters, Sonya, The Green Cabin Room, and Bleacher’s.

  • Shutters offers a full-service, casual dining experience. It serves food throughout the day, with fresh seafood specials in a comfortable and relaxing environment. Here, you can also partake in a weekend Disney character brunch that is popular with families.
  • Sonya offers a formal dining style of steaks, chops, and seafood.
  • The Green Cabin Room offers drinks and light fare in an old Florida bar environment. It is located just above the lobby, so it is easy to find. It is perfect for a drink or two with friends and enjoy the live band that plays most evenings.
  • Bleacher’s is great for quick poolside food and beverage service. You can also buy frozen specialty drinks, snacks, and ice cream. There is also a refillable mug station, so you can drink as much as you want!

Other than this, at Disney Vero Beach Resort, you can watch the sunrise set over the horizon with your loved ones, stroll along the beach searching for seashells, or watch the stars overhead by campfire at the beach. What a way to enjoy a great family holiday!
